Not Your Grandmother’s Craft Fair
This past Saturday was beautiful in Chicago. I biked over to the Renegade Craft Fair in Wicker Park to meet up with some friends. I’m typically not one for the traditional American craft, but for those of you not familiar with Renegade, it’s worth checking out if it comes to a city near you. There are tons of cool jewelry vendors, prints, notebooks w/covers made from old books, custom tank-tops- basically everything you could ever want, right?
I ended up with the little bow ring ($12) above. The artist, Libby Diament, makes homemade jewelry and sells vintage as well. Check out her work and order some for yo’self at DiamentDesigns.etsy.com.
While I didn’t have the $$$ to buy everything I loved the artists below and plan to make some future purchases from their websites. Check them out:
Species by the Thousands - Jewelry (specifically cool dagger rings)
Colette Paperie- unique cards and prints
Lilian Asterfield- recycled scarf necklaces
Mokuyobi Threads- the best Viewmaster backpack
Yellow Square Love- “I make lamps out of stuff” says it all
Little Things Studio- prints, journals, & stationary
Crosshair- silkscreen printing and design
Sol Lewitt, Wavy Brushstrokes Superimposed #1, 1995
